What affects your premium

I had an accident.I didn't get a ticket. Why did my premium go up

Being wholly or partially at-fault for an accident is normally a reason to increase premium, getting a ticket is not. Although, several tickets will often increase your premium.

You get a ticket according to the Highway Traffic Act whereas fault for an accident is allocated according to the rules in the Insurance Act. The two Acts are separate legislation. See "No-fault" and "If I have an accident, how is fault determined" for more details.
